Our Firm’s History
Brian Kiernan and Charles Strenk, along with two other former Seton Hall Law School graduates, formed the partnership that has become Kiernan & Strenk in 1982. Joseph Fischer joined the firm in 1985. In the thirty-five years since its institution, the firm has provided legal services to clients in the northern and central counties of New Jersey.

PATRICK BRIAN KIERNAN
Brian is one of the founding partners of the firm. He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Certified Trial Attorney. He is a seasoned litigator and a detail oriented transactional attorney.
Brian attended Rutgers University, earning a B.A. with distinction in economics in 1976. He then attended Seton Hall University Law School, where he received his J.D. degree in 1979, graduating in the top 10% of his class. He also earned the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Seton Hall Law Review for the 1978-1979 academic year. He served as law secretary to Hon. Arthur C. Dwyer of the New Jersey Superior Court, Chancery Division for the 1979-1980 court year. He then served as legal secretary to Hon. H. Curtis Meanor, in the United States District Court, District of New Jersey for the 1980-1981 court year. He was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 1979, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in 1981 and the New York State Bar in 1988. He has served also as a Court appointed Civil Arbitrator in Morris County. He is a member of the Morris County and New Jersey State Bar Associations.
CHARLES A. STRENK
Charles is an original partner in the firm. He is the firm’s chief corporate attorney and an experienced real estate practitioner.
Charles Strenk attended the University of Delaware, earning a B.S. in 1974. He then attended Seton Hall University Law School, where he received his J.D. degree in 1979, after also serving on the Seton Hall Law Review from 1976-1978, and serving as Associate Editor for the 1977-1978 academic year. Charles was graduated first in his law school class. He was law clerk to Hon. H. Curtis Meanor, U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, for the 1979-1980 court year. He was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 1979. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
JOSEPH R. FISCHER
A partner since 1990, Joseph has concentrated his practice in real estate and litigation. He has represented clients in such niche areas such as short-term house resales and taxi and limousine operations. He also handles the firm’s workers’ compensation practice.
Joseph attended Rutgers University, earning a B.A. in 1982. He then attended the Delaware Law School, Widener University where he received his J.D. degree in 1985. He was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 1985 and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals Bar in 1994. Joseph is a member of the Morris County and New Jersey State Bar Associations.
